Art + Young folk

with Donna Campbell

Friday 20th December (6-8pm)

Join us to celebrate the wonderful achievements of the Saturday Art Club over the last 3 years at The Studio Morland near Penrith, and get an incredible insight into the creativity of the young artists and their worlds through conversation with Donna Campbell, community artist.

Donna’s passion is socially engaged arts and connecting through shared stories to understand one another; find purpose, make sense of the world and increase support networks. She enjoys nurturing creative potential and confidence in people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, and working as a participatory artist enables her to prioritise art practices which facilitate social inclusion. She graduated with an MA in Textile Design, and having worked with refugees in Nepal and international schools in China and Hong Kong, she now focuses on tapestry projects and using textiles to tell stories and generate conversations around displacement, poverty, and social injustice. She also creates outdoor carnival arts, like large scale lanterns and interactive puppets which inspire awe and delight in audiences.
