Community, Place and Environment
with William Titley

Friday 24th November (7-9pm)
@ The Studio Morland
Free, but booking essential

In this talk, William will present examples of his most recent two projects exploring ethical ways of working with people, place and environment, from initial idea through social processes to the final artworks.

William has lived in East Lancashire all his life and delivers projects with friends, family and acquaintances across the county. Often without external funding, his projects depend on the energy and enthusiasm of the participants through intimate conversation and the resourceful evolution of shared narratives.

Recently completing a PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University, William is also a Senior Lecturer for MA Fine Art at The University of Central Lancashire.

In 2011, he Co-founded and directed  'In-Situ', an artist-led (Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation) based in Pendle, East Lancashire. With a wide range of awards, William's creative research practice involves exhibitions, performances, installations, conferences and public interventions in everyday situations with local and international communities, curators, and artists.

Having ADHD, William uses digital technology to help process his interactions with the people, place and environment, which deeply informs his art-making approach.
